“Gifts from the heart” is a phrase that comes to mind when interviewing Janie McKenna and Christopher LaLonde about why they give to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of the Mid-Atlantic, Inc. Almost a decade ago, Janie and Christopher decided (at the initial suggestion of Janie’s sister) to make their first gift to the Foundation. The couple has been giving generously, selflessly and loyally ever since, helping to make wishes come true for more than ten children in our area.

“We are so delighted to be able to help children in this very special way,” Janie said recently. With all the bad news in the world today, Janie says, it makes them feel good to know that their gifts impact children’s lives directly and bring joy and happiness to the wish children and their families often at a difficult time.

Long-time residents of Virginia, Janie has been a real estate agent for more than 16 years and Christopher recently retired from a career in hospital administration and health care policy. The Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic, Inc. would like to express our sincere gratitude to Janie and Christopher for their continued support of the Foundation over the years, bringing hope, strength and joy to so many children.
